NEW NIGERIA – Ade Samuel X JTO Brunch

This past Christmas I was in Nigeria and had the honour of hosting the first phase of NEW NIGERIA. The NEW NIGERIA debut consisted of an intimate conversation between myself and the Celebrity Fashion Stylist and Designer Ade Samuel. The event took place at MILIKI, an exclusive ‘members only’ club in Victoria Island, that supports contemporary creativity and culture in Lagos. Ade herself coined the term “New Nigeria” due to her desire to bring awareness to an emerging subculture of Nigerian influential creatives and entrepreneurs who reside in Nigeria, and also across the diaspora. The structure of NEW NIGERIA is to highlight the new age of designers, stylists, entertainers and artists that are helping to globalize Nigeria, overseas. The event was curated by A DAY LIVING, a creative collective (that focuses on producing culturally relevant content with a high level of depth and value) and fashion brand, VIVENDII. During the event, I interviewed Ade on the power of social media influence, entrepreneurship, and some the assets needed in order to successfully run a business as a woman in today’s society. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came on the day to support! I hope you enjoy looking through all the photos below.

  1. The world is definitely evolving and the value of women entrepreneurs is gradually paying off, kinda. But there is still work to be done. That being said, the growth rate is encouraging and being an guy/man lol I fear for the male species if we don’t buckle up having women like Temi and Dj cuppy at the forefront doing great things. We love u and you’re not alone #istandwithfemaleentrepreneurs. Muah. Big fan
