My Take on Iro and Buba

The traditional section of the Lagos Diaries has begun and it was by far the most fun to shoot! I was really excited to try out some traditional Nigerian fashion, but also try out conventional styles in different ways. During my trip I made a visit to Oniru market, a vibrant and buzzing marketplace in Lagos. For my first traditional look I paired a dark blue iro and buba with a stark white gele. I found that the colour contrast made the look both modern and sophisticated, and I made sure to include a colour pop with a gold and orange necklace. Stay tuned for more iro and buba looks!
