JTO Takes Lagos: Pussy Bows & Painterly Prints

I’m sad to say that we’ve finally come to the end of JTO Takes Lagos. This series was shot during my short but sweet trip to Lagos this past summer, and if you missed the last look you can check it out, (here). I wanted to end this series with a bang, and so it was only right to choose the concept store, ALÁRA, as my backdrop. FYI – to check out my past collaboration with ALÁRA, make sure to click (here)! The Stella Jean dress in this look is a stellar example of why everyone should find their own wearable Matisse-esque masterpiece, and not just us History of Art students. With its expressive brushwork and sunset palette, all I really needed were some disco-ball earrings and leather mules. Sometimes you just have to leave it to a flattering pussy bow and an artistic nod to post-impressionism to leave your mark. In this case, I particularly support that little known saying of “when fashion imitates art”. And yes, make sure to quote me on it.
