JTO Takes Lagos: When More is More

Yes, I may have taken a little break from JTO Takes Lagos here on jtofashion.com, but I’m so excited the series is back with three new looks! If you somehow managed to miss the previous posts, you can see them (here). There are countless hidden elements in this look, but I’ve somehow managed to squeeze in a printed shirt, tasseled midi-skirt, gold statement earrings, striped pouch, and feather-detailed heels, all in one. The individual pieces in this look could arguably even serve as the statement component of an entire look, so how did I manage to join them all together?: Confidence, an “IDGAF” attitude, and not bowing down to any fashion “rules”. Because who says your colours, prints, or textures have to match? Throw out trends or rules when piecing together an outfit and instead opt for using your naked eye (and personal taste) to decide what actually works. PLUS, both the shirt and the skirt of this look are from the Nigerian womenswear brand, Iola, and you all know how I just love homegrown talent.
