90s Baby

I may have only been born in 1996 but when it comes to my favourite fashion choices, I’m a self-confessed 90s girl. I mean, who doesn’t love some flannel, scrunchies, sportswear outside the gym, and oh yes, lipliner that’s noticeably darker than your lipstick. This look combines some of my go-to 90s silhouettes: a sleeveless turtleneck à la Rachel in Friends, an unnecessary hat à la everyone, combat trousers, and sky-high platforms or “buffalo shoes” which were a favourite amongst my 90s heroes, the Spice Girls. In fact, this whole look was inspired by Sporty Spice mixed with every character from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. So to all my fellow GEN Z babies, you can keep your Bardot tops and bodycon dresses because I’m only interested if it was sartorially acceptable in 1998.
